Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By buying a sprite, creating an account or otherwise using Secret Sprite, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Secret Sprite is operated by The Letter Company.

2. Description of Service

Secret Sprite creates and runs publications for your business. For each sprite you buy, the service:

• Reads the public pages of the website you give us to understand your business and market.
• Creates an independent publication about your market, with its own name, on its own domain.
• Uses AI to research and write posts for it on a regular schedule (currently one a week), and hosts them.
• Shows you, in your dashboard, which posts search engines have indexed and how often they appear in search results.
• Gives you an AI assistant ("your sprite") that can report on your publications, take topic requests and pause or resume publishing.

3. Accounts

You sign in with a single-use link sent to the email address you used at checkout. You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure, and for anything done through a sign-in link sent to it. You must be at least 18 years old to use Secret Sprite.

4. Plans, Billing & Cancellation

Secret Sprite is a monthly subscription, priced per sprite: $100 a month for your first sprite, $95 for your second, $90 for your third, and $80 for each sprite after that. Prices are shown before you pay and are charged in advance each month by our payment processor, Stripe. When you add a sprite partway through a billing period, you are charged a prorated amount for the rest of that period.

You can update your payment method, see invoices or cancel at any time from the billing page in your dashboard. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; a change applies from your next billing period.

5. Content

You retain ownership of the materials you give us, including your website content and any requests you send your sprite. You grant us a limited license to access, store, process and transmit them as necessary to provide the service, including sending them to our AI providers.

The posts your sprites publish are written for you by the service. While your subscription is active you may read, share and link to them freely. The publications themselves, including their names, design and hosting, are provided as part of the service.

6. AI-Generated Content

Secret Sprite uses third-party AI providers to research and write posts, name publications and power your sprite's assistant. AI-generated content is provided "as is" and may contain errors or inaccuracies. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose, and we do not guarantee any particular search ranking, number of impressions, or mention by any AI assistant.

7. Domains & Hosting

Each publication is hosted on a domain that we register and pay for on your behalf through a third-party registrar. Domains are registered to us, remain our property, and are not transferable. When your subscription ends, the publication stops publishing and its hosting is taken down; the domain stays with us.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Ask us to write about, or give us a website that promotes, anything illegal, deceptive, hateful or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Use a website you are not authorized to represent.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication mechanisms or security controls, or use your sprite's assistant for anything other than managing your sprites.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl or bulk-access the service.
• Share sign-in links with others or allow unauthorized access to your account.

We may decline to create, or may take down, a publication that we believe breaks these rules.

9. Third-Party Services

Secret Sprite relies on third-party services, including payment processing, hosting, email delivery, domain registration and AI providers. Your use of the service is also subject to the terms of those providers where they apply to you. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or conduct of third-party services.

10. Service Availability

We strive to keep Secret Sprite and your publications available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates or circumstances beyond our control. Publishing, AI and search-data features depend on the availability of third-party services.

11. Limitation of Liability

Secret Sprite is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Letter Company is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, content, rankings or business opportunities. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim.

12. Termination

You may cancel at any time as described in section 4. We may suspend or terminate your access, and take down your publications, if you violate these terms or do not pay. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases. We may retain certain data as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post the updated terms on this page with a revised date, and will email you about significant changes. Your continued use of Secret Sprite after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
